I'm Manav, a photographer with a passion for capturing the grit, grace, and raw emotion of athletes who too often go unnoticed. Born to an immigrant family, my journey into photography has been shaped by a deep desire to tell stories that matter—stories of determination, resilience, and triumph in the face of adversity.
Growing up, I was surrounded by the struggles and sacrifices of my parents, who came to this country seeking a better life. They worked tirelessly but they never gave up. Their resilience became my inspiration, teaching me that success is not always about fame or fortune, but about perseverance and staying true to one’s roots. It’s that same drive and respect for the underdog that fuels my photography today.
I initially found my passion for photography as a teenager, using a camera to document everyday life and the communities around me. But it was through sports photography that I truly discovered my calling. Sports, with their intensity, raw emotion, and fleeting moments of triumph, provide the perfect canvas for storytelling. Whether it’s an athlete’s quiet concentration before a big play, the tension before a race, or the moment of victory when everything comes together, my goal is always to capture more than just the action—I want to immortalize the human spirit in all its forms.
I believe that sports are a universal language, but often, the stories of athletes from underrepresented backgrounds or those in smaller, niche sports. These are the athletes who pour everything into their craft but rarely receive the recognition they deserve. My mission is to change that.
Through my lens, I strive to shed light on these hidden heroes—those whose stories are often overlooked or ignored. I focus on capturing the moments that reveal their true selves: the sweat, the determination, the setbacks, and the triumphs that make their journey so inspiring. It’s about more than just winning; it’s about the fight, the dedication, and the love for the game, no matter how big or small the stage.
