Health & SAFETY TRAINING

In addition to high quality photography services, MG Photography is a Proud Provider of American Red Cross Health and Safety Training. Courses offered include Lifeguarding, Pro CPR & BLS, Community First Aid/CPR/AED, and Workplace Health and Safety Training, compliant with OSHA regulations, as well as certain conditional employment requirements. All courses are held within the Bay Area, California.

Currently, MG Photography does not regularly offer First Aid/CPR/AED or BLS courses. These courses are available upon request, and must have a minimum of 6 participants for the course to run.

Lifeguarding courses are held monthly, at an affiliated location, emailed to you upon successful registration for the course. Due to the amount of content that this course covers, lifeguarding courses are held monthly, over the span of 2-3 days. Lifeguard course fees reflect the bare minimum cost that it takes to run the course, including instructor compensation, Red Cross course fees, and facility rental fees.

Lifeguarding - BL

Provides entry-level participants the knowledge and skills to prevent recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies injuries and sudden illnesses until EMS personnel take over.

Prerequisites:

This is a blended learning course. About 7 hours of online content must be completed prior to the first course date.

Minimum age: 15 years

Swim 300 yards continuously

Tread water for 2 minutes using only the legs

Complete a timed event within 1 minute 40 seconds

Starting in the water swimming 20 yards surface dive to a depth of 7 to 10 feet to retrieve a 10-pound object return to the surface and swim 20 yards on the back to return to the starting point exit the water without using steps or a ladder.

Includes Administering Emergency Oxygen.

Participants who successfully complete the Lifeguarding course receive an American Red Cross certificate for Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED and Administering Emergency Oxygen both valid for 2 years.

Lifeguarding Review

An abbreviated Lifeguarding course that briefly reviews course information and allows practice of skills and knowledge before testing. Current certification in Red Cross Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED is required to participate in the review course. Students who successfully complete this course will receive a certificate for Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED which is valid for 2 years.
